FUNDAMENTALS OF FIGURATIVE SCULPTURE: FIVE-WEEK COURSE
The Fundamentals of Figurative Sculpture is a five-week course open to all experience levels. It is suitable for beginners as well as people who want to strengthen their understanding of figurative sculpture.
Classes run every Tuesday from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Throughout the course, you will develop one clay sculpture from its initial structure through to its final form.

You will:

Build the basic structure of a figurative sculpture

Understand shape, form, and proportions

Learn basic modelling and surface techniques

Work on your own figurative sculpture with ongoing guidance

Receive individual feedback in a small group setting (maximum 6 students)

At the end of the course, each student will take their clay sculpture home

Firing is not included. If you choose to have your sculpture fired, you will need to arrange and pay for it independently after the course. The teacher can recommend Melbourne providers that offer firing services.
Knowledge required:
No previous sculpture experience is required. Suitable for beginners and those looking to strengthen their figurative sculpture skills.
What to bring:
Wear clothes that might get dirty.
Notes:
Accessibility: Please note that the studio is located on the second floor of an older building and is accessible only by two flights of stairs. There is no lift. If you have accessibility requirements, please consider this before booking.
