You will:

• Build a supporting framework and establish your character’s main shapes and proportions.

• Develop posture and expression that suit your character.

• Sculpt clothing and details that complement the design.

• Create a simple scene around your character.

• Refine the overall sculpture and its finer details.

• Receive individual feedback in a small group setting (maximum 6 students)

​Course details:

• You will develop one character and its scene throughout the five weekly sessions, with demonstrations and individual feedback at each stage. You will have time to practise techniques, review your progress and make adjustments.​

• At the end of the course, each student will take their clay sculpture home

• Firing is not included. If you choose to have your sculpture fired, you will need to arrange and pay for it independently after the course. The teacher can recommend Melbourne providers that offer firing services.​

Knowledge required:This course is open to beginners and those with experience who want to develop their skills in character sculpting.​

Notes:

Accessibility: Please note that the studio is located on the second floor of an older building and is accessible only by two flights of stairs. There is no lift. If you have accessibility requirements, please consider this before booking.
